Indeed

Sometimes on sunny days when I see the road peel away from me, it is everything I can do, not to keep driving. I don't suspect I'm alone.

You are definitely not alone. I think about this almost every day.

Packing up and just leaving. It's definitely a fantasy of mine.

Health care has gotten our family so trapped we can't do anything.

One just has to make the best of each day I suppose. I sure am trying to. And I haven't quit dreaming. In my dreams I'm not here.

there is a theory that roadtrips and the like are distinctly American traditions and urges because we were the country that heralded in the age of the automobile...and the interstate.

As for the health stuff, keep looking, you might be able to find a way out...
